Adult Education Programs Graphic You are invited to join our Alternative High School Classes for the Spring 2021 semester.

Classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays beginning January 11th from 6:00 to 10:00.  Classes will start in person if permitted and are held at Hoffman Estates High School but will most likely be remote (face to face through Zoom).

To register, please fill out the Registration Form starting on November 16.  At the end of the form, you will choose your date and time to come into a school for testing.  Testing dates, locations, and times are in the form.  You will have choices of early registration December 8 or 9 with more January dates of 5, 6, 12, 13, 14 at 6:30 or 8:00 p.m. at various locations.  This will guarantee you a testing time and location without waiting. You will sign your registration form and fill in any unanswered questions.  You must also bring in a transcript from the last high school you attended if you did not go to a D211 school.

If you are not able to fill out the registration form online, you will have two opportunities to come in for someone to help you and to take the test.  The first date is December 10 at 6:30 at Palatine High School or Hoffman Estates High School.  The second date is January 11 at 6:30 at Palatine High School or Conant High School.
Due to social distancing requirements, the wait time may be long.

Any further questions, please contact the district Continuing Education office at 847-755-6820 or Rhonda Barbeau at rbarbeau@d211.org or 224-801-1891.

All dates and locations are subject to change due to COVID-19 guidelines.

    Eligibility/Application

This program is designed to meet the educational needs of students whose high school education has been interrupted. Graduation requirements are similar to day school. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age. Students who enter the Alternative High School officially withdraw from their day school. Permanent records will remain on file with the Alternative High School. Preliminary registration requires the approval of the student services director if a current District 211 student. Older students and students new to District 211 may contact the director of continuing education for additional information. Appointments are required for all interested students in order to complete the registration process. Please call (847) 755-6820 with any questions.

    Testing

Orientation will be online. The testing of all students will be discussed at the time of registration.  You will have to sign up for an appointment in advance.  You will then come to Hoffman Estates High School at that assigned time, take the test.  COVID-19 protocol will be in place.  YOU MUST WEAR a mask to testing.    Please be aware that these testing appointments are essential for you to continue in the program.  Please be on time for your appointment.

All classes for the spring semester will be remote until otherwise stated. Alternative High School is held at Hoffman Estates High School, 1100 W. Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates. Classes begin on January 11, 2021.
