    Registration will begin the week of August 8, 2022.



    There is a mandatory orientation/testing night scheduled: The week of AUGUST, 8, 2022 6-9 p.m. AT HEHS, ROOM 37 FOR ALL STUDENTS. Schedule a time with Mr. Ganas

    Alternative High School classes begin on MONDAY, AUGUST, 15, 2022.  All classes are 16 weeks in length. The last class will vary depending upon the day of the week the class meets. 
    -Monday only will begin on Monday, August 15, 2022 and end on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
    -Wednesday only will begin on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 and end on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
    -Tuesday only will begin on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 and end on Tuesday, December 13, 2022
    -Tuesday and Thursday classes will begin on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 and end on Thursday, December 15, 2022
    -Monday and Wednesday classes will begin on Monday, August 15, 2022 and end on Monday, December 12, 2022.

    September 5, 202
    October 10, 2022
    October 11, 2022
    November 8, 2022
    November 23, 24 2022

    Finals for Monday only will be given on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
    Finals for Wednesday only will be given Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
    Finals for Tuesday only will be given Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
    Finals for Tuesday/Thursday will be given on Thursday, December 15, 2022
    Finals for Monday/Wednesday will be given on Monday, December 12, 2022.

    Attendance is mandatory the first week of classes and for all final exams. Loss of course credit results for absences on these days.


    Scheduled for Thursday, May 18, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.; HEHS Auditorium


    This program is designed to meet the educational needs of students whose high school education has been interrupted. Graduation requirements are similar to day school. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age. Students who enter the Alternative High School officially withdraw from their day school. Permanent records will remain on file with the Alternative High School. Preliminary registration requires the approval of the student services director if a current District 211 student. Older students and students new to District 211 may contact the director of continuing education for additional information. Appointments are required for all interested students in order to complete the registration process. Please call (847) 755-6820 with any questions.


    Orientation will be online. The testing of all students will be discussed at the time of registration.  You will have to sign up for an appointment in advance.  You will then come to Hoffman Estates High School at that assigned time, take the test.  COVID-19 protocol will be in place.  YOU MUST WEAR a mask to testing.    Please be aware that these testing appointments are essential for you to continue in the program.  Please be on time for your appointment.


    Alternative High School is held at Hoffman Estates High School, 1100 W. Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates.

    Emergency Information

    If it is necessary to cancel classes because of inclement weather or an emergency situation, we will notify the news media. Please check our website at or listen to one of the local area radio stations. The announcement will be: “Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 evening classes have been cancelled.” The decision to cancel classes is made by 4:00 p.m. Day school cancellation DOES NOT automatically mean night school is cancelled. 

    The Alternative High School is funded by the United States Department of Education, the Illinois Community College Board, the Illinois State Board of Education, and Township High School District 211.


    All District 211 Facilities are tobacco, drug, and alcohol free. The possession and use of these substances on campus is prohibited. District 211 Rules and Regulations are in effect during the operation of the Alternative High School Credit Program.
