Versatrans GPS Bus Tracking
-
District 211 added a new enhancement to further track and maintain one of the largest school-owned transportation fleets in Illinois, recently completing the installation of Tyler Telematic GPS in all of its more than 160 school buses. On top of tracking bus location, this system will provide access to a variety of data for transportation staff. The new system can provide maintenance staff with alerts, which include engine mechanical and diagnostic reports, as well as the ability to track analytical data such as fuel consumption and idle time. Testing of the new GPS app began in April 2019, and a full rollout across the District was initiated in August 2019.
Versatrans MyStop App-GPS Tracking
As part of the new GPS system, parents can use the Versatrans MyStop app (available in the App Store on your iPhone and Google Play) which will allow them to track their child’s school bus on regular morning and afternoon routes. The app will also allow transportation staff to push notifications to parents and students if a bus is delayed or has been substituted for another bus.
Parents should have received a letter from the Township High School District 211 Transportation department at the start of the school year with information about the Versatrans MyStop app, including instructions on how to log in and use the app.
If parents did not receive the letter or are having difficulties using the application, they are advised to email transportation@d211.org, providing the student name and student ID number in the email.
