Adult ESL Night School

Welcome to Adult ESL Night School
- WHAT WE TEACH: Levels range from Beginner to Advanced. Students learn reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, with an emphasis on reading. In addition, students are taught math, digital literacy and civics skills. Classes fill quickly!
- PLACEMENT: Students are placed into a level with a reading test and may not choose a level. Children of students are not allowed to attend classes; however, childcare is offered at the Higgins Education Center site.
- REQUIREMENTS: Students may not miss more than four classes any semester. New students must attend one of the orientation dates. The testing date will be provided during orientation and in the registration link. Testing will take three hours. Advanced-level students must attend an extra night of testing for reading instruction prior to the first night of class.

Orientation Wednesday, Wednesday, January 10 or Monday, January 22 at 6:30 p.m., in the cafeteria and lab 130.Classes begin: Monday, January 29
Classes held: Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
No classes: February 19, March 25 and 27
Palatine High School -
Orientation Thursday, January 11 or Thursday, January 18 at 6:30 p.m., in the cafeteriaClasses begin: Tuesday, January 30
Classes held: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
No classes: March 26 and 28
Higgins Education Center -Monday / Wednesday Classes begin: Monday, January 29, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday / Thursday classes begin: Tuesday, January 30, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
No classes: February 19, March 25,26,27,28
