• Schaumburg High School is proud to recognize Giselle Soares as the March Senior of the Month

Giselle Soares Giselle Soares is an excellent representation of a Schaumburg Saxon.  She embodies a very strong work ethic which allows her to be successful in her classes. She models the expectations of a Saxon outside of the classroom as well by participating in various clubs and organizations.  Giselle is a quiet leader, choosing to help others through interpersonal contact and friendship.   All of these demands and the sharing of her time and talents is done with a very positive attitude and friendly personality.

In the classroom, Giselle has received numerous acclamations including being an AP scholar with distinction, National Merit Commended Scholar, and Illinois State Scholar.  How does she achieve all this success?   Giselle enjoys being involved in many things.  She focuses on what she must do, and learns as much as she can from it.  When Giselle first arrived at Schaumburg High School, she said she was shy and nervous.  Activities greatly helped Giselle become more outspoken.  She tries to challenge herself every day.   Her positive attitude about learning is also very valuable when class gets tough.

Outside of the classroom, Giselle competes on the debate team and math team.  She also is part of Student Ambassadors and Saxon LEAD.  In the community, Giselle volunteers at PADS homeless shelter and St. Hubert’s Church Youth Group. After she graduates from SHS, Giselle plans on attending the University of Toronto and majoring in Chemical Engineering.

We are proud to have Giselle Soares to be our senior of the month for March. She is a great example of what “We Are SHS” is all about.
