Tyson Recall
On Wednesday, June 23, frozen Tyson chicken fajita strips were provided in the curbside meal bags at Hoffman Estates and Fremd High Schools for either chicken Caesar salad or chicken fajitas. Tyson has issued a recall for this frozen fully cooked chicken due to potential contamination. If you have any frozen chicken fajita strips remaining, please dispose of this product immediately. Summer Meals Info
Onsite meals during summer school:
For students who attend summer school, a free breakfast will be available each morning and a free lunch will be available during a student’s break time at no cost to all students.
Curbside meal pick-up available at all District 211 high schools:
Available every Wednesday from June 9th – July 21st. Summer curbside meal pick-up will be available at Fremd High School from 12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. at Door 9 and Hoffman Estates High School from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. - at Door 6A.
No sign up necessary. Meals can be picked up for any child 18 years and younger in the household.
Please have your trunk empty and available for staff to load meal bags. When you arrive at the pick-up location, follow the posted signage. Stay in your vehicle. Staff will load meal bags into your trunk. Children do not need to be present at the time of pick-up. If you are ill, please do not come to the meal bag pick-up location. Items in the meal bag are perishable and must be stored in the refrigerator or freezer immediately.Please email foodservice@d211.org with any questions.
The food service department adheres to all safety and sanitation procedures according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Food Assistance through Pandemic- Electronic Benefits (P-EBT)
Additional food assistance is available through the state of Illinois for students qualifying for free and reduced-price meals. District 211 students who are eligible for free and reduced-price meals this school year 20-21 or in school year 19-20 automatically qualify for Pandemic- Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program benefits. If you have not reapplied for meal benefits and believe you may qualify please fill out an application with the district at https://adc.d211.org/Page/6669.
