Online Placement Testing Information

The PSAT 8/9 establishes a baseline measurement of your college and career readiness as you enter high school. It also gives you a chance to preview the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10 and connect to AP courses. For more information go to  PSAT 8/9 administered each October to incoming freshmen is used for both placement and establishing benchmark scores.  

Incoming freshmen are required to complete a placement exam which assists in determining English, math, and science course placement along with identifying students for required participation in the Incoming Freshmen math and reading summer school programs.


Date: Saturday, October 21, 2023

Report Time: 7:45 a.m.

Testing Time: 8:00 - 11:15a.m.


What to Bring:

• Full charged school-issued Chromebook (District 15 and 54 students)

• Calculator (smartphones cannot be used as a calculator)

• Students who do not attend District 15 or 54 will test in a computer lab.


Students eligible for testing accommodations will receive additional

information leading up to the exam date. Students with accommodations

will finish at different times depending on their College Board approved

accommodations therefore, they will need to arrange for their own

transportation home after testing.

Score Reporting:

The PSAT 8/9 takes 2 hours and 14 minutes and consists of 2 sections: (1) the Reading and Writing section, and (2) the Math section. Most of the questions are multiple choice, though some of the math questions ask you to type in the answer rather than select it.
