United in Purpose, Powered by Passion: A Welcome-Back Message from Dr. Campbell

Greetings! I am Dr. Judith Campbell, and it is my honor and pleasure to serve as Superintendent of Township High School District 211. It is with great excitement and pride that I welcome you to this new school year, following last week’s official open house events. These gatherings at our schools set the tone for what promises to be a year defined by excellence. It was wonderful to see so many students, staff, family and community members come together to celebrate the rich history of D211, as we look to build on our educational practices, experiences, and innovative opportunities for every single student that enters our buildings.

If you weren’t able to tour our schools during open house, I encourage you to schedule a visit. Not only will you see the incredible teaching and learning happening each day, but you’ll also experience the state-of-the-art spaces created to engage, empower, and educate our students. This summer, we completed significant upgrades, including Auditorium Improvements, Culinary Lab, and Locker Room Renovations, just to name a few.  These renovations ensure our students have access to modern learning and athletic environments designed for 21st-century education.

Our district’s five core values: Communication and Accountability; Equity and Inclusion; Financial Integrity; Innovation and Learning; and Safety, Wellness, and Respect, guide this year’s theme: United in Purpose, Powered by Passion. Together, these values drive our commitment to serving the needs of our diverse student population, while empowering every student to reach their full potential, ready to embrace a world of endless possibilities.

I am super excited to launch the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, bringing together various groups of 9th-12th grade students at each school site. Their voices will help shape their learning experiences and ensure student perspectives are central to our work. Additionally, my Listening and Learning Tours with staff, families, and community members will continue,  as I work to capture insight on what our immediate and future priorities entail, with students unapologetically at the core of all decision making.  

Thank you for your trust, support, and partnership as we begin this exciting new year. I am energized by the journey ahead and look forward to working side by side with you, to create extraordinary opportunities for every D211 student we are privileged to serve. In these first weeks, we have already accomplished so much and we can’t lose sight of all that still lies ahead.
