PREREQUISITE: A152 Art and Design, A253 Art Drawing, A254 Art Printmaking (A,B,C), or Department Approval This course is an introduction to the media and technical possibilities of painting. The emphasis is on paint handling, craftsmanship, color theory, two-dimensional composition, and theme. The student is encouraged to begin the process of self-awareness through the painting of diversified subjects such as portrait, landscape, and still life.
