History
-
In the early 1970's, a 40 acres parcel of land located on Higgins Road, Northwest of Highway 58 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois was selected as the site for Schaumburg Township's new school to serve freshman and sophomore students. Construction of this new school, Hoffman Estates High School, was completed in 1973 and was designed to support an enrollment of 2,500 students. The High School was dedicated on October 21st, 1973 at 2:00 p.m.
In 1975, Hoffman Estates High School became a four-year institution. The original building has undergone many construction projects since opening, including the addition and remodeling of our fine arts facilities, remodel of our science laboratories, and additions to our media center and main entrance. The athletic facilities were also updated to include an artificial turf field, multiple gym spaces, and a redesigned swimming pool.
