UNICEF Club Event
UNICEF will be hosting a Human Trafficking Awareness event. This event is open to all students and will allow participants to earn service hours.
The event will be held on January 28th, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in rooms 229-230. You will hear information from an FBI Victim Specialist about the issue of human trafficking and how to stay safe in our area. You are encouraged to attend and sign up using the QR code posted around school. You can also ask questions of the specialist that you would like her to answer. Please consider attending this session to learn more about this issue and keeping everyone safe. -
Chinese New Year
Celebrate the Year of the Snake, 蛇 (shé). The Chinese Club warmly invites you to join us in celebrating the Chinese New Year on Wednesday, January 29th, during all lunch periods. The celebration will take place in the main hallway outside the Student Council Room (room 151). Experience the excitement of Chinese Yo-Yo, Ribbon Dance, Shuttlecock, Chinese Checkers, Trivia, and more! Don’t miss this vibrant day of fun and cultural enrichment. We can’t wait to see you there!

Debate Team Winners
The Student Congress debate team crushed it at its final regular season tournament last Saturday, January 18, at Highland Park High School! The team battled to a 4th place finish overall, and freshman Eva Tamhane earned a 6th place overall quality speaker award. In addition, seven debaters brought home individual chamber speaking awards: Aarya Gupta (1st place); Anushka Patel (1st place); Eva Tamhane (1st place); Scott Gilbert (2nd place); Vanshika Parthiban (2nd place); Isha Patel (3rd place); and Venkata Tanuku (3rd place). Next up are three state tournaments in February and March. Go Debate!

Author's Day
Author's Day is coming up! If you'd like to read a piece of your writing, you can submit your piece by scanning the QR code found around the building. Student submissions are due February 24th--anyone can submit!
On February 4th, Writer's Club will be hosting an Author's Day workshop in room 112. Come on by if you'd like some feedback, tips, or encouragement on your writing! Contact Mr. Long in English if you have questions.
