Scholastic Bowl Club

The Saxon Scholastic Bowl Team gives students a chance to test their curricular and trivial knowledge against students from other schools. A competition pits school against school - each with a five-member team armed only with a pencil, paper and a buzzer. The first question is read by the moderator...anyone can buzz in, but you only have 10 seconds! The team whose mate answers correctly gets a chance at a series of bonus questions, during which the team may confer before calling out their answers. The team with the most points after 20 questions wins the match! SHS competes in about 10 MSL/IHSA meets and the Illinois Masonic Bowl. Practice is once a week starting in October and competitions are weekly December through February. Snacks provided!
