Immunization Requirements for the Class of 2020

The Illinois School Code requires that all students entering 12th grade show proof of receiving two Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccines (MCV4) before the start of their senior year. Meningococcal disease describes infections caused by the bacterium Neisseria meningitidis, also called meningococcus. Best known as the cause of meningitis, this disease carries a high mortality rate if untreated, but is vaccine preventable.
