What behavior is expected of students during Summer School?
Students participating in District 211 Summer School are expected to follow the same behavioral expectations and school rules that apply during the regular academic year. These expectations help ensure that all students can learn in a safe, respectful, and productive environment.
Students must comply with school expectations regarding conduct, attendance, and appropriate behavior while on campus. This includes adhering to guidelines related to appropriate dress, the use of prohibited substances, and respectful interactions with staff and peers. Current student expectations can be found in the school calendar/handbook, which is available on the school website.
Students who engage in serious misconduct, including but not limited to possession or use of tobacco or controlled substances, truancy, excessive tardiness, or other significant violations of school rules, may be dismissed from the Summer School program. Students dismissed from the program will forfeit both course credit and Summer School fees.
Families are encouraged to review school expectations with their students prior to the start of Summer School to help ensure a positive and successful learning experience.
Are students required to wear I.D.s?
Students are required to wear and properly display a current school I.D. card while attending Summer School in District 211. Student I.D. cards will be distributed on the first day of class. The I.D. card must be worn around the neck and visible at all times during the school day except when specifically exempted on a temporary basis by an authorized faculty/staff member. Only lanyards issued by the school may be used to wear and display the I.D. card. Students may not embellish their I.D. card with any drawing or writing. I.D. cards must be surrendered upon request of any staff member, including bus drivers and student supervisors. The I.D. card must be shown to the staff member on duty when entering buses, checking out media materials, and leaving the school for any purpose. Students without an I.D. card on a school-issued lanyard must obtain a replacement card or lanyard immediately upon entering the building. Disciplinary consequences may apply for failure to properly wear and display a current I.D. card.
