Summer School
District 211 Summer School
Township High School District 211 is proud to offer a comprehensive Summer School program designed to support students in achieving their academic goals while exploring new learning opportunities. Open to students residing within District 211, the tuition-based program provides a structured environment where students can accelerate their learning, recover credits needed for graduation, or enrich their academic experience through additional coursework.
District 211 Summer School is staffed by highly qualified educators and designed to maintain the same standards of academic quality and student support found throughout the school year. Whether students are strengthening foundational skills, advancing in their studies, or preparing for the transition to high school, the Summer School program provides meaningful opportunities for growth and success.
Program Opportunities
District 211 Summer School offers several pathways for students to make the most of their summer learning experience. Courses are designed to help students:
- Accelerate learning by completing coursework ahead of the traditional school-year sequence
- Recover credits required for graduation
- Build academic readiness and strengthen foundational skills
- Explore enrichment opportunities in a focused summer learning environment
- Support the transition to high school for incoming freshmen
These options allow students and families to select opportunities that best align with individual academic goals and graduation plans.
Program Schedule
Summer School courses are offered in two semesters during the summer session.
- Semester 1: Three-week session
- Semester 2: Three-week session
Some courses are designed to be completed in one semester (three weeks), while others extend across both semesters (six weeks) depending on course requirements.
Classes meet four days per week, Monday through Thursday, allowing students to engage in focused learning while maintaining time for other summer activities.
Locations and Registration
Summer School classes are hosted across multiple District 211 campuses. Locations may vary each year in order to accommodate building construction and summer facility projects.
Registration typically opens in April for current District 211 students and incoming freshmen. Because class sizes are limited, families are encouraged to register early to secure placement in desired courses.
Our Commitment
District 211 Summer School is designed to provide a supportive, engaging, and academically rigorous environment that helps students stay on track toward graduation while making the most of their summer learning opportunities.
We look forward to welcoming students and families to another successful summer of learning in District 211.
