Pace sheet

Download the PaCE Framework HERE

What is PaCE?

The Illinois Postsecondary and Career Expectations (PaCE) framework is designed to help students prepare for life beyond high school. It provides a structured pathway to help students explore their passions, make informed decisions, and achieve their career goals. The framework includes grade-specific milestones to ensure students build essential skills and knowledge progressively throughout high school, empowering them to succeed in an ever-evolving workforce.

Students can use MaiaLearning to navigate their educational and career paths. This platform offers tools for exploring colleges, career options, and developing a personalized plan for success.

Key Features of PaCE:

  • Career Exploration and Development
Students engage in activities like interest surveys, job shadows, and internships to identify their passions and explore potential career pathways.

  • Postsecondary Education Exploration, Preparation, and Selection
Guidance on exploring college and training options, understanding admissions processes, and aligning postsecondary plans with career goals.

  • Financial Aid and Literacy
Students learn about budgeting, scholarships, FAFSA, and the true cost of postsecondary education to make informed financial decisions.

How Families Can Help:

  • Support students in taking challenging courses and exploring their career interests.
  • Encourage them to use MaiaLearning for college and career planning.
  • Discuss postsecondary education options and assist with the application process.
