-
Township High School District 211 students can earn the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy by demonstrating high levels of proficiency in English and an additional language. Students who earn the Illinois Seal of Biliteracy will have it indicated on their transcript. Illinois public universities will accept the State Seal of Biliteracy as equivalent to 2 years of foreign language coursework taken during high school. You can find more information on the Illinois State Board of Education website.
The AAPPL or STAMP language exams are administered in March, either in-person or online. Current languages available through AAPPL or Stamp include Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Students interested in registering for the AAPPL or STAMP assessment should see their counselor by the end of January. An invoice will be sent through MySchoolBucks in February.
If your student attends a language school that administers one of the ISBE approved assessments to earn the Seal of Biliteracy, please have a representative from the language school send the student services director the assessment results.
